Ribeira Sacra with boat

Ribeira Sacra is a historic region located in northeastern Spain, in the heart of Galicia. It is characterized by its mountainous landscape full of impressive valleys, the presence of important rivers such as the Minho and the Sil and by an infinite number of vineyards of one of the most famous Galician appellations of origin, the Ribeiro wine.

Visitors can enjoy visiting the wonderful monasteries with which it has (several among the oldest in Europe) being some of them ( as San Pedro de Rocas ) of great historical and patrimonial value. Much of this heritage makes the Ribeira Sacra one of the great reserves of European Romanesque.

But especially the region is famous for the impressive Sil Canyon, which offers spectacular views that can reach heights of more than 500 meters.

TO BE VISITED

First of all we will enjoy a magnificent catamaran route through the canyons of the river from San Esteban de Ribas de Sil where you will travel an incredible area from which you can see the vineyards . It will last about an hour and a half. We can learn more about the so-called heroic viticulture.

Secondly, you will visit the viewpoint of Cabezoas, located in the area of Paradas de Sil. We will enjoy magnificent views with heights of more than 500 meters from where we will observe a unique landscape in Spain .

As a third stop we will approach the incredible monastery of San Pedro de Rocas. In this monastery we will observe a series of tombs with anthropomorphic form from the Visigothic period , and we will know some of the legends that exist about this place .

To finish Allariz will be visited one of the most beautiful villages of the province of Orense . There is a tour of the old part of the town that preserves many traditional houses and landmark buildings. You will also enjoy the incredible natural environment of the town considered one of the best preserved in Galicia.
